[Movie] Buried
Anyone else see this? This movie was amazing. 1.5 hours or so of only Ryan Reynolds, stuck in a box, buried alive. I was like.. how the hell are they going to be able to carry this movie with one person and no change of location? Somehow, they managed it.
Oddly enough, it was only playing at one theatre in all of Ottawa where we saw it (my hometown... we were there for Thanksgiving), and very very few places in Toronto. Bit of a shame since this movie should've had quite a bit more exposure.

I've been planning on seeing this. Reynolds is a highly underrated actor IMO. He right now has a reputation for Comedy (of the normal and romantic variety) as well as being in a few action-oriented movie. The story premise and the fact it's just him in the box is enough to pique my interests as I'm a fan of the craft and a slight practitioner myself. I do enjoy the odd movie that "breaks the mold" and I think this could be one of those movies.
Needless to say, I shall be stymied for now as it's not playing anywhere near me. Stupid Midwestern US!!

saw this. all i can say is wow. I never would have thought a movie about a guy in a box could have so much. comedy, action, romance, suspense...
if ryan reynolds isn't at least nominated for best actor for this film.... seriously, I don't think many actors could pull off being by themselves in a movie...in a box, and make it entertaining the whole way through.

Was it smaller than Paranormal Activity?
Lets see, I'm sure it costs less to pay for a box and a camera than it does a team of phonies to make an entire movie in photoshop.

Paranormal Activity was made with a $15,000 budget. Buried had a $3 million budget.
So yeah, it apparently costs more for man-in-a-box than Adobe Movie Editor Pro.
