Fuck. For whatever reason, that just reminded me of Jaffa Cakes. I wish they sold them in Canada.

God fucking dammit Canada sucks!
And Bara: if it's likely to give us heart disease and/or diabetes, Scotland has it. Our national cuisine closely resembles Darwinism on a plate. Or more commonly a chip-shop wrapper.

Scotland has got to be one of the most beautiful countries I've ever seen. And it has Jaffa cakes. /cry

I take it you spent a few days in Edinburgh and the Highlands then.

Good lord that's a good guess! Spent a few days in Edinburgh and then drove up the east coast to visit a guildie in Montrose. I had originally thought that Scotland would be quite similar to England. I was very. fucking. wrong. The landscape is astounding, and just the LOOK of Edinburgh was absolutely beautiful.
BTW, what exactly counts as "the Highlands"? Just so I'm clear. I assume more northern?
Edit: Ah, I just wikipediaed it. No, never made it up to the Highlands!

This is basically the Highlands
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Highl ... wlands.png
Montrose is basically north of Dundee, so technically, no you didn't make it to the Highlands. That said, most of Scotland's really green and pretty apart from the clusters around our cities. (Edinburgh's a relatively notable exception, but it too has some dodgy parts)
That said, I was similarly blown away when I spent a week in Finland recently.

We spent a couple days in Edinburgh a few years ago and really loved it (also, I'm a sucker for a scottish accent). Would love to make it back some day to the Highlands as well.

Edinburgh's a lot like London, not really representative of the country that surrounds it.

The countryside around London is truly breathtaking in places but I haven't been to Edinburgh so I can't comment on that.
I keep meaning to go but Scotland is so dear that it just isn't viable.

Whatchoo talking 'bout Bara? That's Highlander, not Braveheart. And I love the first Highlander, since it actually has a Scottish actor in major role. Admittedly that role is of an ancient Egyptian living in Spain, but hey, can't have everything. And Christopher Lambert's accent transcends "so bad it's good" to be "so terrible it's hilarious".
