Streaming Music

Postby Nikachelle » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:26 am

Does anyone know of a list of streaming music stations online? I've been listening to my local radio station too much and need a bit of a switch. Ideally looking for something that plays Trance.

Looking for actual radios? di.fm is the first thing that comes to mind. If you want a song selection more than an actual radio, grooveshark is a good one.

Yahoo messenger has an built in music player feature called "Yahoo Radio" very little to no commercials.

You can also use http://www.playlist.com you can make your own online playlist and stream all the songs you like without pirating them. You can also listen to other peoples premade playlist if they have one of music you like.

Grooveshark seems awesome if I know what I want to listen to, however I'm looking for something streaming (however it works WELL and quickly!). Di.fm doesn't seem to work... but that may be my work computer putting restrictions up. Yahoo Radio indicates that it won't play from my location (Canada maybe?)

I tried last.fm but it requires I sign up, so I can't be bothered with that.

I'm trying out playlist.com right now and it seems to work well. Although having to reselect a new playlist when one ends seems a bit too "annoying" if I just want to sit there and listen. However, I'll stick with that one for now.

How many people remember the Massinova Project?

Can you do it through iTunes? There are 519 Electronica streams including -

DI - Goa Psy Trance (oddly for the first time ever not working for me atm)
DI - Trance
DI - Vocal Trance

When you get bored of trance, let your finger slip onto DI - Happy Hardcore for funtimes.

 I went to their Electronica station and the first song that came up was Jennifer Lopez. I was like "wtf", but the song after was far better. Sticking with that for now.

If it requires me to actually download iTunes to my work computer, then that won't be happening.
