I wish everyone an AWESOME 4th of July!

It is easy to forget how incredibly, astronomically amazing it is to be an AMERICAN. Funny, how such little things can remind me of that. No matter how disillusioned or cynical people and events make me want to get, I've always been reminded about the euphoric optimism my country has always inspired in me.

Bless the U.S.A!

I'm spending today trying to convince the local Afghans in the on-base bazaar that Independence Day is really called Explosion Day, where Americans celebrate blowing things up.
Next I explained how usually the village elder is the one who survived the most 4th of Julys.

Pretty much, just had the most american 4th ever. Sat on top of a mountain in the rockies overlooking a small town, with a bunch of hick-texans visiting colorado watching GIANT ASS fireworks.

HAPPY 4th.

Shot some picture of the fireworks this year. Haven't shot fireworks in a long time. These were shot from about a mile away.

Pretty good fireworks, and exceptionally good photography.
