Two Great Stories

Postby Dazhbog » Thu May 13, 2010 10:03 pm

Alright, so I'm not normally one to read fanfiction, since the genre is filled with Mary Sue tripe and worse. However, in the past week I've run across two absolutely fantastic little pieces.

First, we have Dusk's "You Awaken In Razor Hill", which is WoW themed; the gist is that Dusk started a "text based adventure" on the WoW forums and it mushroomed from there. Very witty, literally had me on the floor laughing. Worth a read, doubly so if you've played WoW (although it's not necessary).

Best for second: "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" is basically what would happen had Mr. Potter been raised by skeptical thinking scientists instead of idiot hicks, and was a bit of a child prodigy. Some of the best writing I've ever enjoyed period, and you should go read it. No really, get going!

Dusk is actually in my guild! Was a great and fun read for what seemed like forever.

He got hired to work for Blizzard after that. No bs :).

Strike a pose, because it just got real.

Read the razor hill one awhile ago when it was linked on my guild's forums. Very well written and a very entertaining read.

It's not often that you find fanfic which is worth a damn. That one was, so far.

The razor hill thingy meant I got zero work done at work for half a week when I saw it for the first time.

Brekkie:Tanks are like shitty DPS. And healers are like REALLY distracted DPS
Amirya:Why yes, your penis is longer than his because you hit 30k dps in the first 10 seconds. But guess what? That raid boss has a dick bigger than your ego.
Flex:I don't make mistakes. I execute carefully planned strategic group wipes.
Levie:(in /g) It's weird, I have a collar and I dont know where I got it from, Worgen are kinky!
Levie:Drunk Lev goes and does what he pleases just to annoy sober Lev.
Sagara:You see, you need to *spread* the bun before you insert the hot dog.

It's probably a bad idea to read Razor Hill at work, I'm struggling to contain my laughter.

Only chapter 6 so far, and Scratchfever is my favorite.

Very funny indeed.

Although Razor Hill bears a striking resemblance to our very own 'Wafflesforface' interactive adventure.

Except Razor Hill actually ended... Unlike 'Wafflesforface'

It's at least 8 or 9 months since the last update I think.

How long was there between the Star Wars films? The good ones.

Patience.
