I know it says NWN2, but it was in a thread about the first xpac of NWN. They go back and forth with to what they are referring.

Those Prestige classes are definitely only for NWN2.

Here's the lists for the 2xpacs for NWN1:

http://nwn.bioware.com/shadows/prestige_classes.html

http://nwn.bioware.com/underdark/prestige_classes.html

DD and RDD are in there, but none of the others from NWN2.

So I went a different direction and now I have a Wizard(4)/Pale Master(3) with my wizard specializing in Necromancy school spells.

Fun so far. Now the challenge is convincing my wife to play. She plays WoW and a bunch of PS2 games, but seemed completely disinterested in NWN when she was watching me play. Sadness.

I hate making a character without a clear cut path as the game requires a fair amount of time investment. So much so that I would hate to hit level 15 and realize I've made an underpowered mish-mosh.

You could use one of the custom maps that let you gain levels directly with a map widget, so that you can quickly build a character of X level. You could also start a campaign in the expansion with a "new character", which levels you to 15 or something as a starting point. (Or, that's what Hordes of the Underdark did for me.)

Or you could use the console to grant you levels. >.<

I played the original NWN for a little bit a long time ago and I got the feeling that it's mostly aimed at multiplayer. Was I just imagining things or is it a good single player game as well?

Depends on how awesome the campaign module is.

Well I was just playing the base content, so I'm guessing some of the player made stuff is rather nice?
