Hmm I found a new area in Eclis after gathering. Its a rather hard event though, three level 9 mobs, but one of them does nothing but massive ward/armour and spirit attacks! I'm level 10 and have no chance. I guess you have to be quite a lot higher?

My level 8 (Sajak) is going for pyro and having a great time. That is until Passionario's flea beat my orange tabby cat in a race.

To be fair, I had another alt and two apprentices participating in that particular race, so the deck was stacked against you in any case.

For the most part, you can judge an event's difficulty based on the number of stars it has.
1 star = 0->10
2 stars = 10->20
3 stars = 20->30
etc
Typically events offer a single battle which presents a unique challenge, or a particularly nasty combination of abilities. This means that they can often be defeated very early by those with a sufficiently specialised deck, while those that lack the appropriate specialisation will have to wait until the higher end of the event's level bracket. For instance, I just beat a 3 star site at level 20 because I'm a recruit, which gives me a lot of great armour, and this event is best beaten by turtling.
It can take a lot of AP to discover events, but it's worth starting early imo. Spend time gathering in new cities until you've uncovered half a dozen sites or so. Hopefully, 1 or 2 will be events around your level. When you discover a site (not necessarily an event), you get explorer points. When you clear an event, you get treasure hunter points (although the number of stars must be equal to your current TH rank, eg you can't get R2 TH from 1 star sites). You'll also be getting extreme gatherer points. Gathering is very slow, but it's one of the best ways to raise your HP.
Once you've discovered some sites that you think you can handle, you should start farming them. They reset every 20 hours, based on when you last did them. If you discover a few sites in neighbouring cities, you can flick back and forth every day, doing both.
That said, Cave of the Something Something sites are special events

Re: Estiah -- Browser-based MMORPG game
Sorry for the double post, but I felt this deserved its own post, rather than tacking it onto the end of my previous one as an edit.
Lemex is my alt, and has just hit 16. I'm going to try and rush him to level 20 so that we can get a guild started, but I'm still a full 100 attribute points away. I'm getting 5-6 a day from jobs, and hopefully 2-4 every day or two from skillups, but it's still looking like it's going to take at least 2 weeks. Once it's up, there are still limited slots, and we need to put a fair amount of time and resources into building upgrades to the guild hall in order to fit more members in (and to get enough gold and mats to upgrade the hall, we need to upgrade the vault and warehouse, etc etc it gets pretty crazy). We'll have to limit it to one character per person, at least at first, but later on we should be able to make room for alts. If you're keen to help out with the guild, just keep levelling, try to save up a little bit of gold (not vital though), and most importantly just stay active. When it gets up and running, I'll basically do invites based on level, but at least at first, we need people who are logging in at least once a day (you can "build" for the guild once a day -- it resets at the same time as jobs / travel).
In any event, just wanted to give a heads up as to where it's at right now. As I get closer to 20, I'll start to figure out a preliminary list of inaugural guild members
Until then, keep levelling hard!

How long does it take for diminishing returns in PvP to reset? Been leveling cruelty and was wondering if I'm in any danger of running out of low lvl characters to fight

Re: Estiah -- Browser-based MMORPG game
I got this from the Wiki
k, i'm gonna explain this again, i can't find my old post.
day 1 you firstly play on estiah
day 1, 11:00 you log in, the server remembers your last login as "day 1, 11:00"
day 1, 12:30 you gank nipal, diminishing return is enabled for nipal
day 1, 15:00 you log in, dr is still up
day 2, 10:00 you log in, gank lezard, diminishing return is enabled for lezard
day 2, 13:00 you login, it's more than 24h than your last login, so pvp reset, all diminishing returns are cleared, last login is remembered as "day 2, 13:00"
day 2, 13:30 you can gank both nipal and lezard, even you just ganked lezard three hours ago
...
so it's actually based on "last login" which is not your "actual last login" really. i know it's quite awkward, you just
have to know that we did this for performance's sake and there are many other things happening at login too.

LFG group to do Rogue Colossus that isn't total fail.
Although, I might just stack defence and protect charms, he only has like 14 spirit.

It's a deceiving number: his charms (other than Aim) have a self-stun component that makes him skip turns.

Let's do it together! Might need another level though.

FFS, I was using my recklessness deck, and therefore failed to take down Thornir and Passio.

Re: Estiah -- Browser-based MMORPG game
Is there a searchable charm database or something like that? Like for instance something I could search for charms with focus. The Wiki has lists of charms based on Rune, but I have to click on each charm to find out it's effects.

There are a couple of guys trying to work on a larger, more comprehensive database of charms, but for now I think it's just the wiki.
The primary focus charms at low levels are Tied X, Guiding X, and Aiming X. There's also a holy focus charm from Thunderock Canyon iirc.
