Webcomics! (Loads of images)

Postby hoho » Wed Mar 24, 2010 8:08 am

I'm sure a whole lot of people read them daily just like myself. Over past few years my google reader has accumulated quite a few of them so I thought why not share some of them! Feel free to link to goodies I don't have here yet :)

Amazing Super Powers
Image

Atheist cartoons
Image

Comics. Often dirty (often NSFW)
Image

Courting Disaster - basically people ask relationship questions, someone answers them and a cartoon is made from some
[img]http://www.courting-disaster.com/comics/cd20090918.jpg[/mg]

General Protection Fault - should be read from start to not miss a whole lot of references. Yes, all 11 years of it. It's totally worth it though
Image

Girly - a bunch of people fighting bad guys in a rather surreal world
Image

Least I could do
Image

Looking for group - very loosely wow-based
Image

Dark Legacy Comics - is there anyone here who doesn't know this?
[img]http://www.darklegacycomics.com/222.jpg

Noobz!
Image

Questionable Content
Image

Saturday morning breakfast cereal
Image

Something Positive
Image

Teh Gladiators - another wow-based comic that everyone probably already knows
Image

The Noob - another famous one
Image

XKCD
Image

There are a few more I used to follow but aren't continued any more.

Thread should be about people posting a good webcomic strip whenever they come across one (link the nsfw ones).

That was kind of the point actually, I just spammed the first post with what I had :)

I hate that cartoon, mostly because it's wrong. There is no way to transfer information faster than light using entangled particles.

Since we do not know everything there is to know ever, we can't really say that there is no way to do such a thing. You can only prove the existence of something, you can never prove the complete absence.

Um. No. This is not a case of "we might not know how." This is a case of "cartoonist completely misunderstanding what entangled particles are, what information is, and how information is transmitted."

I will be glad to debate this with you at length, seeing as it's a side topic of my thesis research. I can also point you to hundreds of papers confirming this, both analytically and experimentally.

But in short, you cannot transfer information via entangled photons in this fashion because those photons contain no information. You need a classical (i.e. sub-luminal) channel to send information in order to make use of the entanglement properties.

A modest destiny is awesome. The author has a couple of other storylines going as well, but I'm not sure if he's updating these days.
