Mine will likely be the most odd one of the group...starting with it's size. I have an acceptable draft finally \o/

I don't argue that it feels good because my first tattoo was delightful but, my side and hip tattoo was another story; at times it felt like being cut with a searing hot scalpel and the vibrations against the bone were painful. That one had me biting my hand and trying not to jerk around.

The thing that I always wondered was what happens if you lose a lot of weight (or gain weight I suppose) - does it mess up the design?
Always something to consider for the future!

It does. It can warp the design completely.
Which is exactly why I got mine on my lower back. It seemed to me like the least likely place to stretch.

Re: tattoo thread
I think that's why I've waited so long to even consider getting mine. I'm well aware that the way I want to twist the tattoo around my side will warp if I'm not careful about my weight, and I wanted to make sure my bones were done growing. Now I'll just put on a little more muscle and I'm set.

Me too! Though I do understand your point about skin stretching. I don't have any tattoos and I doubt I'll get any. I do want a Celtic knot on the inside of my right wrist, but that just seems like too visible of a spot.

Aergis designed interlocking tattoos as a wedding gift. So when he hugs me and my back is to him our tattoos interlock, his is on his left chest.

It's currently in progress. To do: compass rose above the scorpion, shading on the tribal wreath (the underarm hurt like a bitch, I'm SOOO not looking forward to that part of it)filling in the sky and some more tribal on the back of the shoulder and down my chest. I'm going for the moon somewhere too, might work that in on the chest with the rest of the tribal scrollwork.
