The Master of the Obvious is one of the most important roles in society. Seeing the obvious is quite difficult at times.Klaudandus wrote:I never mentioned Tiger&Bunny cuz I thought that one was obvious... *shrugs*

I looked through the releases and nothing catched my eye, anyone got any good ones to watch?
(and I still want more of Eve no Jikan!!!)
Shakugan no Shana has me exited, however there are 2 seasons you WILL wanna catch up on.
I heard about the 4th season of Familar or Zero, dunno how interested I am though. Toss up between who is more irritatingly stupid.

Re: New Anime Season
The first few minutes of Shana3 crushed the happy illusions I've had since S2 ended. Now I'm going to wait for it to finish so I can just mainline it and be done with it.
It is by far one of my favorite universes, even if the story itself gets silly at times.

It's part of why I staff cons instead, they're my age...

I'd prolly staff at a con if I lived near a major con.
The closest one to me is A-kon, and that one is 6-7 hours.

Re: New Anime Season
cons are once a year at best...and far far away...
...would be nice to have an "oldtimers" anime-group around here, but with only 300k inhabitants, that's probably too much to ask...
Seen Shana 1&2, I guess I'll have to see 3 as well to get closure.

My wife pretty much Thinks Poorly of me watching anime. We liked the Macross series, but it's hard to pitch the case for ${Random Anime Series} here -- especially when just about everything Netflix lists seems like it's about sex or schoolgirls or both. =/

You need to go for slice-of-life stuff, like Bartender, who is about drinks. Yes, I am not kidding.

Find and feed her the artsy stuff if that's what she's into, and use that as a gateway drug. It's harder to find interesting series aimed at a more mature market, but there's still plenty of it there. Judging the entire genre based on what Netflix has is like judging all Americans by daytime TV.

I know I went to one in the Houston area at one point...and I'm fairly sure they have cons in Austin/San Antonio. I'll have to do some digging, maybe I can figure them out for you.
A-kon left something to be desired the last time I went.

Hmm... last time I didn't mention the obvious, I got scolded...
But... did you guys know Fate Zero is being currently aired in Japan? Just saying.

I haven't started watching it (waiting to mainline), but my son has, and various people in guild are quite high on it. What do you think?
I'm always somewhat torn on prequels since you already have a pretty damn good idea of how things are going to end. But if the journey is good enough, it won't matter if you know where it's going.

FF7: Crisis Core did that well
