Halazzi : Spirit as focus + captainamerica shield

Hm... I tested this macro yesterday and it didn't work , didn't cast the spell for some reason :

/focus spirit
/cast [target=focus,exists] Avenger's Shield(Rank 5)

Anyone got an idea of what is going wrong ? I don't want to use the taunt rightaway, although it works, it might not be enough to keep it long enough to build aggro on , and then it's on CD.

I might try this next time ( don't pin me down on it, this is totally untested , out of my head macro'ing ) :

/target none
/target spirit
/cast [target=target,exists] Avenger's Shield(Rank 5)



I'm not sure the focus can be set using a macro ...
Anyway , didn't want to wipe on testing macro's .

the reason for /target none and exists is : I don't want to cast avenger shield on anything else than the spirit, just spam that macro button until it starts casting.

I'm not sure this macro would work because it's a cast sequence macro, if you try to focus something twice doesn't it remove the focus?

Regardless, a /cast [target=spirit] type macro should suffice just as well...

You cannot do that. target= has to be one of a select set of words, such as focus, target, targettarget etc. I cannot be a specific person/enemy.

Edith says tested and working... /clearfocus not needed, but i think i will do it, cuz my Offtanking druid will spot the lynx anyway

that's almost what I'm looking for , but here's the catch :

The spirit 'appears' at 75% boss, I know this, but I want to cast avenger as SOON as bloody possible, considering lag etc... so it doesn't have a chance to go to healers. So I want to spam that button before the spirit appears until I see my shield go off.

The problem is :

/target spirit -> no spirit there yet
/focus -> boss will be focused, he's disappearing when spirit comes
/cast [target=focus] erh... no focus... since boss is gone and only spirit there = dead healer

I need something like :

focusexact Spirit Of Halazzi

( or whatever his exact name is )

if spirit doesn't exist, then don't focus anything

then :

/cast [target=focus,exists] Avenger Shield


That would work , but it's not an option I guess...
of course I can also wait 2 seconds so spirit REALLY is there.. but... healers don't like to see big things running towards them

/cleartarget
/targetexact Spirit of the Lynx
/stopmacro [target=target, noexists]
/cast Avenger's Shield(Rank 5)

sure you can. I have individual 10 minute salv macros for each of my off tanks that i use right before a boss pull on raids.
/cast [target=Natural] Blessing of Salvation
/cast [target=Vorkon] Blessing of Salvation
/cast [target=Sole] Blessing of Salvation

they work fine.

When I do the lynx, I have my enemy health bars turned on, have JoR ready, and as soon as I see the new health bar, I hit tab and JoR. It seems to work well and might be something to try if the macros don't end up working.

I never let him get far enough to need AS. Seal up at 76/51/26%, drop a consecrate when he does the holy nova thing, tab over and smack it with a judgement.

For Belfs, does Judgment of Blood ever miss? I've never seen it happen. Normally DPS is switching between the totem and spirit so it's no dramas to unload enough threat on it without fear of it running away to tag someone else. I use SoB/JoB to pick up the Hunter's pet just the same for Karatharess.

I suppose I can also use SoB judging and consecrate , which might be easier. Anyway , might be handy in the future to have those kind of macro's up. alternatively :

/cast Judgement
