huntsman/Maiden trash aoe

here's the story, i am going into KZ as tank for the first time... i have cleared it many times as other classes, but if your not tanking you just dont pay attention know what i mean... just curious about a few trash pulls.

Can you aoe all the trash pulls for the huntsman?

Can you AoE everything in the maidens hall? mainly i am thinking of that 4-5 pull about halfway down next to the bookcases.


btw, i would LOVE to see a sticky of a nice 'what you can and cant aoe in KZ' including when you do aoe groups what mobs do you down first etc.. just something consolidated i could read to speed up kara runs.

However, you for sure cannot do that in lvl 70 blues, you need some overgearing to do so.

you CAN aoe tank ALL mobs around the blacksmith and those in the back when you got the gear listed in the pre-kara/raid gear topic

as for the packs before the hunter i suggest you do 2 packs at a time in t4 gear.


the packs in front of maiden, i do round em up for each group and just aoe tank em..but i find tanking em all an unhealthy idea in my current gear

You can aoe tank everything up till chess with D3 set, its scary, your healers will have heart attacks, but its doable. With Kara / Heroic gear you should aoe tank everything, its not worth another tank splitting healer focus / threat unless you need to (the 6 pull of the thieves, we alternate the tanks to make it nice and easy for example). Even the pull right after chess (1 large beast 2 smalls) can be done aoe tanked all 3 at once (though its scarier than anything else in Kara ).

I would suggest not aoe tanking the stewards near moroes (get you drunk), the fleshbeasts or the 6 pull of thieves since those can easily get you dead faster than your healers can react, however everything else should be solo-aoe-tankable. However doing this be prepared to wipe and apologise if your gear is pre-kara as you are likely on a knife edge in terms of health / damge

Don't forget the Ushers. They hurt.
Taking all of the big chick pull before Maiden isn't that funny either, but they're certainly doable.
Sorcerous Shades are ok if your group doesn't get killed by the aoe.

Also, as asked about, those mobs by the bookcase on the way to maiden (with the demons mixed in) can be a little bit rough on the group to AoE if the tank and healers are well geared. They do some viscious debuffs and CC's. I'd suggest making use of at least one banish if you've got a lock in your group just to keep things smooth and so everyone can come out with mana remaining for the next pull.

we routinely AOE down about half the hallway in front of maiden at once... mainly because I'm a lazy ass and don't bother waiting for the pat's to come... so we'll do that one four pull, I'll move over and accidently grab the other 2 standing across the hall from them, and then the undead/demon wench pat will walk into us, and it's just a hella fun fustercluck.

I don't know which pulls I hate more, the usher pulls or the god damn pulls before curator.

This past week was the first time I solo tanked the place on my own.

Yeah that was a easy pull, i pull four of the guards @ a time then the same with the concubine and hostees, Very easy for tankadins AOE consecration FTW. The only part i had problems with is the mob's that do ice block onto you going to opera, Till i start using FREE ACTION POT Easy as cake now just tank them both and pop your pot and DPS both with in 30sec, If you time it right..
