How well could this bear do Netherspite?

Anyone in plate/bear can take the red beam to be honest.

I've even tanked him on my rogue. Hunters have done it, shaman have done it, holy pallys have done it, etc.

As long as he's in bear form and moves in and out of the beam he will be fine.

Pick a dpser who knows how to watch their debuffs and strafe and you are golden. We use boomkins/ench shammies/hunters/rogues all the time if we don't bring an actual off-tank.

Crit immune to tank the red beam???

I have tanked it on my shaman and I assure you my +def is 0 you just have to be careful how many ticks you take and in my case I had 2 druid healers with blooms running.

The only tricky part to a none tank in red beam is the real tank has to pick it up after the banish phase for you until the red beam appears and you can jump in it.

Tanking him as a dps-class with +0 defense without dying? Just means you got lucky. He DOES hit hard, and if you catch a crit while dancing outside the beam, you will die. Easy as that.
