The gear's largely irrelevant, anyway. There are only a couple of things in UB that hit for more than 1k. Armor isn't going to make much of a difference whether you have 12000 or 18k.

Things will definitely hit you for more than that if

1. You get stunned (then it does come down to armour)
2. The bog lords debuff does not get despelled

Things that can and most likely will stun you:

1. Elemental weed monster and Bog lords
2. The non CC naga guys in pairs

The thread was about a guy starting tanking who has prob the bare minimum to enter a heroic thats +490 def and prob less than 12K HP and 12K armour

I dont think guys who have 16 and 17K HP/armour and prob uncrushable and telling people "well I can solo ... l2P" is really that helpful to him

Tell you what take off all your gear or do it with rez sickness and I will be impressed

Things will definitely hit you for more than that if

1. You get stunned (then it does come down to armour)

Things still only hit for 1000 a swing regardless if you were stunned or not. They just hit you more consistently. If your healer dosen't suck it shouldn't matter.

2. The bog lords debuff does not get despelled

WHOSE FAULT IS THAT? Cleanse costs less than 100 mana, last I checked.

If anything in underbog other than the bog lords can kill you, either your healer is retarded or you're doing something wrong.

So basically you can get stunned make sure healer is ready for the damage spikes and do your best to minimize (stun them before they stun you). Make sure you cleanse debuffs.

H UB has multiple gear checks? I had a healer with less than 1k healing heal me through all of it, with no CC. A Holy pally. Only one wipe, because the asshole wouldn't move in range to heal me .

What kind of gear were you and the DPS wearing?

Now its been a while, but I had about 13k unbuffed I believe, and 2 of the dps were in a mix of blues, PVP gear, and kara pieces. I can't recall who the last DPS was, but I think he was mostly in blues.

i was running heroic bot yesterday for the daily heroic. my first healer was HORRIBLE. the mechanical bots (cant remember their name) were hitting hard, and he'd let me get right to 1k or so before FINALLY healing me to around 2-3k, and kept doing it. was ticking me off- flirting with danger there bud...

healer left along with 1 dps right before the first boss- the boss actually came out and walked around (never done this before) in the middle of us engaging a group. we didn't do so hot... lol

after the healer and dps left, we got another dps and an amazing healer. we proceeded to breeze through the instance, not wiping once. they let me AOE tank, and sheep'd when we thought it would be a huge pull. it was a lot of fun. so it really just depends on the group and the healer how easy/hard an instance is going to be
