I died once on these at the weekend when he started spiking me for 6k and the healer just couldn't keep up. Generally though with a Mage, Shadow Priest and Warlock nuking them, it was cake.

Stoneskin Potions.

Even the lesser ones make a noticeable difference.

I treat heroics as personal raid, and I use consumable buffs on those hard hitting mobs.

Elixir of Fortitude and Elixir of Brute Strength, and stam food.

I also have that 2000 hp consumable from Ogrila.

And from blacksmithing, Shield Warding and Breastplate Runes.

think you guys are going overboard.

if you are doing your job and still dieing its the healers' fault(s). Tell them to spam the big heals. They should watch your damage and start casting before your next hit.

No, it really is our damage mitigation and hp if we can't take 6k hp hits twice in a row, especially if a greater heal from any healing class can't heal that fast in 1 second (with the exception of nature's swiftness / swiftmend).

I admit I haven't tanked those bogs before but I've healed through them for a pally with about 12k health and me without Light's Grace (2.5 cast time on my heals).

It's not entirely the tanks fault if they're doing everything they can do. Like the poster above said, the healer has to not only anticipate the damage, but time the heal so that it falls right after the hit (should it hit) and before the next. That's not exactly straight science either though. Takes some luck too.
