[Shattered Halls] Warbringer O'mrogg question...
Hey guys...
Curious how you guys handle this fight?
Was in there the first time today. Had 2 mages a rogue and a priest healing.
First 20% or so was fine.
Then he did his aggro dump.
And no matter what I did, I Couldn't regain threat.
I pretty much had to run around dpsing and helping spot heal.
How do you guys recommend handling this fight?
Rest of the instance was cake. But he was annoying. Had a 7% wipe and killed him the second time. But would like to know some things that could help improve it. It felt really bad. I was basically useless.

I wear full healing gear for this fight, and tank him in that. That way we have two healers. Whomever has aggro just gets healed by both the healers while they kite him around and everyone else DPSes. If he aggroes me, I stand and fight.
Works wonderfully

I heard a trick that I've tried a few times and it seems to work for most of the fight. Start out your threat real smooth and slow. Do NOT pop your wings. I usually don't consecrate either. I pull with shield, and basically let Holy Shield keep the agg for me. Judge Crusader on him once, then SoR a few times, and he should be stuck on you in the beginning. When he aggro dumps, NOW pop your wings. Consecrate/JoR/Holy Sheild/and Avenger's shield if you have to. For some reason if you build your agg slow in the beginning and smack him upside the cranium with your holy aluminum baseball bat later, it works. At around 20% or so he can get out of control again, but by that point it should be easy to finish him off.
Never tried it on heroic yet, but regular mode this has worked the last 3/3 times I tried it. G'luck

I really like this idea. I've had problems occasionally on this encounter as well. Thanks for the tip.

This boss has 2 aggro lists (one for each head). Your DPS needs to be paying attention and DPS-off when he switches to his other aggro list.
IIRC, he'll yell something like "Me not like this one!" when he switches aggro lists. See WoWWiki for a more complete listing of his quotes (as he doesn't always use the same shout when he switches aggro lists).
The fight is actually quite easy. I've tried using this method and a burn-him-down-fast method (everyone was doing FFA dps) and this method more often yields successful results for me.

I wear my FULL spell damage gear (was full t2.5 until very recently) with FR aura, judge Crusader and do my normal full threat rotation. When he yells I immediately pop my pew pew trinket and AW, AS and JoR. This worked about half the time before he was nerfed, but now he will immediately turn right back around and go back on me if AS hits. Wearing full +damage gear doesn't make a big difference for this fight in your healer keeping you alive without issue, but it does provide you with tons more mana and threat to work with.

The really easy way to do this guy is not be at the top of the threat list.
If you're doing a Heroic SH I assume everyone will have KTM. Ask your dps to go above you in threat but not pull agro, when he 'switches' he'll agro dump the dps'er at the top of the list and stay on the tank. Works every time and makes this boss just tank and spank.

We did a LOT of messing around on this guy in Heroic mode until we figured it out.
He really does have two aggro lists. It appears that DOTs, debuffs, and heals generate threat on BOTH his lists at once. Direct damage and high threat attacks only generate threat on the active list.
The effect of all this is that when he switches heads, you need to go absolutely nuts on threat to climb above any healing/debuff threat that was generated. Once you're way ahead on threat on both heads, he just stays glued to you all fight.
The other effect is that because your healers are generating threat on both heads at once, and you're only generating threat on one, your healers will eventually crest over your ability to generate threat and pull aggro on a head. Thus, you need to kill him before this happens.
I was using SoR on him when we engaged him. I'm unsure whether or not SoV would trivialize the fight (by generating SoV threat on both heads at once). I'll try this next time.

This is just something I saw the first time I ran Shattered Halls, but I'll be damned if it didn't give me a no-death strategy, or at least a better way of thinking...
When he swapped aggros, I actually saw the threat jump on KTM (This hasn't happened ever again, and I'm not sure why). We had a fury warrior and - as I'd been told there's no certain way to control aggro in this encounter - I'd put BoM on him, so he was spiking close to my same threat. When the swap happened, I was at his total and he was at mine - with me only 2k threat down, I threw an AS and snapped him right back to me. We repeated this one more time and then he was toast.
I don't know if this is technically right, but it's what worked for me, and I now love having a fury warrior with me to stack up dps-threat behind me. Maybe we just get lucky a lot... But, 7 kills without a single death or wipe is an awful lot of luck.

This is the strategy I use for regular shattered halls as well. Never fails... Build aggro through normal means (avengers shield and SoR), when he turns away pop my wings, and toss avengers shield at him and judge righteousness. Yanks him right back without issue.
