Mechano-Lord Capacitus in normal Mechanar

I haven't been in Mechanar yet with my pally, except for tanking the last boss. I know that Mechano-Lord Capacitus has a shield which switches from melee to spell damage protection and back. How is a pally tank supposed to fight him?

Turn off autoattack whenever he changes colors.
I'm probably losing a chunk of threat whenever I do this since I've never bothered to learn what color reflects what. But I've just played it safe and totally stop attacking him and it works for me. I've never lost agg on him. I do keep holy shield up, but that's about it.

red for physical and green for spell

if green is up, don't judge. I'm not sure about consecration
if red is up, don't swing.

heroic Capacitus > regular Capacitus. Ilearned mechanar(my first run in it EVER) in heroic.

He sure is easier in heroic for a paladin tank.

I am pretty sure his green phase has no effect on reactive spells like holy shield, consercrate, retribution aura. As someone above said, just don't judge.

I find the easiest way to not autoattack when he is red for melee is to flash of light myself once. Then I just stand there with HS up. You can judge though if you want for more threat.

Remember that he is not a colour most of the fight, so you can do everything then.

And as always, front load your threat so you can handle droughts. Some of your parties dps will be completely shut down during his phases, so they probably won't pull aggro.

in... normal? and you don't notice yourself doing massive damage to yourself? It is quite significant, even if you outgear the instance.

On my warlock, spell reflecting mobs are the most amusing: I tend to only notice the shield after a spell or two landed(often leading to me critting myself with shadowbolt and receiving the +20% incoming shadow damage debuff). I am actually happy when this happens, for i can reflecto n myself siphon life and drain life(that nets more hp than what I lose from them thanks to fel armor). Emo Warlock goes pew pew.

Well the phisical reflecting phase is just like 1500 damage per melee hit, nothing unhealable nowadays.

Did it again last night, he most def does damages if you swing when he's red/judge if he's green.

The rogue that was with us didn't know that, he died in like, 2 seconds.

just tanked him for first time in normal mode. i had my new uber guild's leader (mage) and another beyond kara geared mage and a holy priest healin me. so in other words we owned the instance. but first time at this guy we wiped cuz we all just basically killed each other from hitting him at wrong times. after i learned the subtle color change thing we downed him and i ended with full hp and mana. but he can def wipe the best of the best if your not careful...

If u forget what color does whats if u have enemy cast bars switched on, which u probably, it says reflect melee or reflect spells.
