Without Divine Intellect

Ever since I switched to Prot, I've had a 10/41/10 build. It has worked well for me. I was thinking of trying a 0/49/12 standard tankadin build to see how it differs. I was wondering how significant it is giving up Divine Intellect. I still have all of SMV to quest in and I'm fearful that the 10% reduction in Int and hence mana, can be challenging.

Any thoughts on that?

It's only mana at the startof the fight. When soloing, that's basically all the mana you can count on save for BoW.

When tanking however, unless you tank trivial content, the mana you gain from SA far outlasts the starting mana, so +10% starting mana only makes a small difference.

I'd also add the in your tanking gear, 10% of your int just isn't a lot of mana. In my case I've got 145 int in my tanking gear, so I'd get a whopping 210 mana from that talent...not a big deal at all.

You have a point. It would be 360 mana for me, which is what, a spell and a half? I guess the added avoidance outweighs the loss of mana.
