Cookie cutter 49/12 spec after next patch?
Just wondering anyone using the cookie cutter 49/12 spec what are you gonna loose to get the 2 extra points in imp holy shield. Im having lots of difficutty deciding. ATM it seams like a tough choice between precision, guardians favour and imp judgement.

Never would go without 3/3 in precision. I think, i'll go for guardians favour. Imp Judgement would be the other choice, since it is messing up the tank rotations anyway ^^

hey
Personally I'm going to try out 10/41/10, giving up precision, guardian's favor, reckoning, and imp judgement in favor of imp SoR, 1h spec, imp HS.

(note the 2 points placed in imp devo aura are as placeholders for imp HS)
We'll see how it goes.
edit: oops, linked empty talent sheet initially, should be fixed

I myself cannot live without Reckoning. Reason being that I use 2H sometimes and without Reck, that wouldnt even be a choice anymore. I'm dropping Guardians Favor.

I dropped two points out of toughness >.>
is that a really bad idea? I'm not a huge fan of armor in this game, I shouldn't be getting hit very often anyways, and when I am in danger of dying the extra armor won't really save me, I think.

If you invest all of your talents, all of your gear, all of your knowledge and skill into tanking, you should be the best tank.

Yeah, the more armor the merrier. I read in a tanking guide once that it is your job to do everything in your power to stay alive, since quite frequently if the tank goes down, it results in a wipe for the group/raid. The more armor you have, the less damage you take, meaning the longer that you can stay alive. Not to mention the fact that as you get better gear with more armor, the talent gives you even more of a bonus. Scaling talents FTW.

Note that there are significant Diminishing Returns on Mitigation; as you gain each new point of Armor, each point provides a smaller net benefit in terms of mitigation.
However, in the words of Satrina, "Mitigation is subject to diminishing returns, but Armor is not." What this means is, Armor provides a linear increase to lifespan, if not mitigation.
--------------------------------------------------------------
1) I have 3000 armour and 5000 hitpoints. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 38.64 seconds Now I will add 1000 armour, giving me 4000 armour. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 43.18 seconds Adding 1000 armour increased my time to live by 4.54 seconds.
2) I have 6000 armour and 5000 hitpoints. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 52.27 seconds Now I will add 1000 armour, giving me 7000 armour. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 56.82 seconds Adding 1000 armour increased my time to live by 4.55 seconds.
3) I have 10000 armour and 5000 hitpoints. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 70.45 seconds Now I will add 1000 armour, giving me 11000 armour. Against a level 60 opponent that deals 200 damage per second I will live for 75.00 seconds Adding 1000 armour increased my time to live by 4.55 seconds.
