Redoubt question from a casual encounter.
I recently dropped redoubt from my build, for the TPS increase with SotP. Now my question is: does the drop in damage mitigation cover the the benefit of the increased TPS with the SOTP. Here is my build also can someone explain to me how you guys use divine guardian? do you use that as a OT skill ? like when a raid encouter goes shitty and you are the OT then us DG trying to give the MT a higher survivablity ? Please explain if possible.

When you dropped Redoubt, in addition to the mitigation loss you also dropped a bunch of tps from ShoR. It's a bad idea, don't do it.
As for DG, I mostly grab it as the best filler for someone with only 6 points in Ret. It wouldn't take much to convince me to drop it personally.

WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
Moonlight Sonata Techno Remix
Scriggle - 85 Fire Mage
Fizzmore - 81 Mut Rogue
Adorania - 80 Disc Priest

Divine Guardian is for most people a filler.
I mean you need to use 3 points between BoK, stoicism, Guardian's Favor, DG, imp. HoJ and Reckoning.
so 3 (mostly) pvp talents, reckoning, and DG for that random chance if you off-tank to Bubble and hand of sacrifice the tank for 51% damage reduction.
It's not used alot by me, but srsly, not much else to lose.
Hell i even spec kings but since i also spec SotP, i wouldn't afford anything useful beyond the 6 points in ret anyway so i need to use a few points in prot.

Redoubt is a much larger TPS boost than Seals of the Pure and offers mitigation. The core Protection/Retribution talents for a paladin tank are a must, there are no exceptions.

There are always exceptions.
If you assume a 30% uptime on redoubt for a 25% increase in ShoR damage, you get a 7.5% overall increase in ShoRdamage.
Seals and judgements combined *should* make up more damage than ShoR.
So SotP seems twice as good (or better) as redoubt for TPS.

The block value gained from redoubt is passive and always on.
