Ret/Prot/utility spec?

I know it's probably a sin to mention it on maintankadin, but how do you reckon this looks for a DPS spec that incorporates both prot blessings and gives plenty of raidwide buffs and debuffs.

I'm thinking that in a case where a prot paladin just isn't needed, a retri spec that takes bosanc instead of divine storm looks to be a good choice.

It obviously won't put out the high numbers a true ret spec gives, but for utility it should surely make up for the lack of dps.

Thoughts?

BoSanct isn't really that needed, since it doesn't stack with neither viginlance nor grace. Also, you'll be needing another two paladins to bless kings and BoM/BoW if you bless sanct, which might not be there, and in that case you just moved your utility, not neccesarily increased it.

Just my thoughts, though

You have sinned my child, let us pray for your soul.

If I was to make a monsterous hybrid spec designed to provide all the buffs and ultily the spec couls possibly fit (without regard to the negative effects on tanking, dpsing, and healing) I would go with this 5/21/46.

It provides the following ultility:
Imp Dev
Divine guardian
HotC
Imp ret aura + sanctified retribution + swift retribution
Stun removal
BoK
BoS
imp BoM
Replenishment
70% pushback resistance
Repentance
quick movement

Making such a butchered spec is fun but please don't ever play with one.

I was thinking more Sanc for the tanks and kings for everyone else tbh..

It looks like Ret without divine storm and Prot without any of the good stuff.

The problem of trying to do too much is you end up doing nothing well.
Be careful when you argue with trolls, lest you become one.

Well I was thinking for when dual specs go in, some fights arent going to require all of the tanks that you bring, so it may be the pally tank who switches specs.. i'm of the udnerstanding that if you bless sanctuary and then switch to a spec without it, the buff is lost. So I was trying to come up with a spec that offers decent DPS while keeping bosanc.. and it just so happened that as dodge isnt needed for dps, bokings is a nice addition too..

Small edit to your original post that will make it a much better DPS spec

The whole point is to try and keep BoSanc :P

If it's not getting changed, then it is still an awesome buff for any tank.

You're shooting yourself in the foot!

Just go with a 0/10/61 build. The difference in DPS is big enough that the encounter duration is lengthened enough to make it more than less of a problem.
