Kings...its not prot's responsibility

How to get started.

I'm not even sure what else you'd spend the points on that's such a huge deal.

At first in beta and PTR, it was difficult to make a prot spec that got all the good stuff... but now you're so overflowing with spare points that you're left at a loss trying to find places to shove them all.

Lore made a good point somewhere, CBA looking it up.

There's two cases:

Case one: You have a Ret pally

Ok, you don't need Kings. Except now more than 6 points in Ret is utterly useless. You have talent points out the wazoo, you may as well get Kings, what else are you going to spend them on?

Case two: No Ret pally

Get Kings.

This simplifies to: Get Kings.

Of course,

I'd much prefer kings if it were 1-3 points and a little deeper in another tree. That prot is the tree with both of the unique talentable blessings is somewhat annoyingly designed. Scrap improved BoM, replace it with king's at 2 or 3 points would work fairly well imho.

Not really, because then Battle Shout would be the premier AP buff, and that's fucking annoying to rebuff every two minutes in a boss fight, and if the Warrior dies at the beginning of it, you're boned.

You could always fold a slightly higher AP into BoM to begin with or just have it take priority over the shout.

But Warriors are going to pick up Commanding Presence when travelling down the Fury tree, and therefor it'll give more AP than Might, so that's what you'll use. It'll be annoying as hell, but that's what'll happen.

That depends on what kind of raid setup you got.

For example, we run with somewhere between 4 and 6 paladins every time (2 prot, 1 ret all time, 1 to 3 holys), so warriors just pick something else. The ones with commanding presence use commanding shout ;)

But if you use Veilan's idea and scrap impBoM, then you'd have to use Battle Shout.

And what the crap is your guild doing with that many paladins?!

We always had armyes of paladins. Part of our Twins kill pre 3.0 were done with 3-4 holy paladins, and we often had 6 paladins on brutallus/kalecgos in raid (with just me as prot, all others were holy).

We had one of the holys going ret in 3.0, and i corrupted our GM to invite my fellow degrolas as 2nd prot, but the remaining 4 holys are still there.

The only problem with a 10 man raid is that there are never enough paladins. you can never have enough paladins. :P
