Seal of Righteousness/SoV(Corr) in 3.1?

Postby Ashmadai » Mon Feb 09, 2009 2:22 pm

So I took Seal of Righteousness off my hotbars when 3.0 hit. Now I have like 18 expertise without SoCorr up for the glyph, so I have to start thinking is this change to the SoR glyph going to make it pull ahead, since there is so much expertise on some of the tanking gear right now anyway.

I will try to do some testing myself, but I won't have time for it today, so if anybody else does some testing themselves please post it!

Check how both scale. SoV gets twice the bonus from AP then from SP. SoR gets more from sP then from AP. What do you have more of?

That scale would have to be very, very different for it to be effective.

AP: 2556, scales very well with raid-buffs
SP: 718.. doesn´t scale quite so well :/

Fun to see numbers on it come 3.1.

Does anyone have the coefficients of SoR and SoV? WoWhead seems to have lost them.

My guess is that they are just giving this as a buff for Holy Paladins solo'ing and etc(which they have been complaining about). If the numbers show that glyphed SoR is better than SoV they'll change the coefficients to give more benefit from spell power so we don't use it. I think its pretty clear they want us using SoV.

Yeah, but damn us for wanting a Stamina weapon enchant, I mean we should have choice right?

Just get all Seals of the GCD so we could start Sealweaving for max tps generation.

Else from that SoR will be still close to useless for tanking.

Edit: replaced *both SoV and Sor* with *all Seals*.

That would make things so much more fun! And, I mean, why not, with seals on a 30-min duration next patch, what's lost/gained/made OP with seals being off the GCD. Alas, I'm sure there is some technical difficulty (probably along the lines of "We don't wanna") that keeps them from doing this.

Seals will last 30 minutes next patch? I must have missed that somewhere. I was probably still drooling over the fact we'll be able to silence casters.

Seals will be 30 min as of 3.0.9, aka when you next log into WoW, you'll have 30 min seals.

Any theory crafter working on the +10% SoR vs SoCorr?

I'm really not the math guy but want to see the result.

I'm not really a higher math person but I'm trying to get some samples, just need to find something to tank will be consistent and also does enough damage to me that I can keep my mana up and continue rotations.

Worse case scenario I can probably have some anecdotal evidence after my raid tomorrow.

yea... I would probably put something like that there... except i will probably still be hitting the key all the time out of habit... perhaps time to put pallyvate there?
