I have a different source
Resilience still works in PvE. Perhaps someone was hearing one of us say that the goal was not for druids and death knights to go get resilience gear in order to tank. Resilience gear is designed for PvP, not for tanking, but we aren't doing anything to prevent it from working.

Your quote is still full of it if you don't have a source to link

WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY?
Moonlight Sonata Techno Remix
Scriggle - 80 Mage
Adorania - 80 Disc Priest
Fizzmore - 80 Mut Rogue

Psh, I can't believe you guys almost got my name tarnished on the beta forums. I salvaged it, though.

The first few times I tanked Gruul I was running around 485 defense skill with the Resilience on my S2 Gavel bridging the crit gap for me. While I don't think for serious tanking situations a Tankadin should be looking to use Resilience as a primary tanking stat, it does have it's uses to allow a bit more freedom in gearing options.

Blame the Alpha!
"Resilience - Resilience will no longer function inside of instances. Only if you are flagged PVP in the real world, BG's, and Arenas"
It was in the alpha notes sometimes and so on wotlk.wiki.

I use a touch of resilience (i.e. pvp badge cloak) for trash tanking set so I can max my spell damage while still being uncritable.
