Introduction.

When I was asked to moderate this forum, this was the one task that I looked forward to and dreaded with equal parts. We are fortunate to have a lot of truly gifted guide writers on these forums, but it is also a daunting task to put together a guide that does justice to the hard work done everyday by these forum members.

This guide is an attempt to consolidate the huge amount of stickies in this forum and as such, make it easier to chart your way through the slightly less murky than before but certainly still not crystal clear waters of gearing your Tankadin to its full potential. Obviously as new content becomes available the guides do become in need of updates and this can take a little time so please bear with us.

The guide itself is split into parts that chart the way your gear can, and for maximum efficiency, should ideally progress. Often as Tankadins we have run the gauntlet of the RNG, running instances over and over again to get that drop that although seemingly a small upgrade to some, to us is very important and a huge personal goal. Hopefully this guide will go some way to making it a little easier to navigate through your gearing choices should the RNG favour you. If it doesn't don't despair, you can get to where you need to be gearwise by following the reputation gear path or as of patch 3.2 grinding out the badges needed from heroics!

Part 1 - Gearing from 10-58

This short guide explains your gearing choices as you level through vanilla WoW until you reach Outland. Discussion about this guide can be found here. [links to follow when guide is written]

Part 2 - Gearing from 58-70

This guide is made up of the excellant guides that help so many of us as we geared ourselves up through Outland. Please note that much of the gearing process changed with patch 3.0 as our reliance upon spell damage for threat was removed.

Part 3 - Gearing from 70-80 including Basic Gearing for Heroics

These guides show what you should be aiming for as you work your way through Northrend. They cover everything from quest rewards, gear comparisons and guides to get you ready for heroics and raiding.
